I Felt My First Earthquake

I finally felt my first earthquake. We were having dinner with a friend and we all felt it quake for about one minute. Our shades were swaying, some items hanging on the wall were swinging slightly, and we could feel the sway ourselves. But overall it was not that big of a deal. We sat there and talked about it while it happened and the kids kept playing even though they knew what was going on. I guess it is a part of the environment here. If it had been a larger quake we understand that it would have been best for us to stand in a door frame.

The earthquake was a magnitude 5.1. The center of the quake was about 45 miles south east of where we are living in Davao, Philippines. For anyone who is interested, here is a link to more information about this particular earthquake: my first earthquake

Hi! I recently found a great "Read Through The Bible In A Year" program that takes you through the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice in a year. The Pastor at the church we attend has encouraged our congregation to use this reading plan.

Go to this link: http://hippocampusextensions.com/mcheyneplan.html

If you follow this plan with me then, in the words of M'Cheyne who developed this reading plan, "THE SWEET BOND OF CHRISTIAN LOVE AND UNITY WILL BE STRENGTHENED. - We shall often be lead to think of those dear brothers and sisters in the Lord, who agree to join with us in reading these portions. We shall oftener be led to agree on earth, touching something we shall ask of God. We shall pray over the same promises, mourn over the same confessions, praise God in the same songs, and be nourished by the same words of eternal life."

So, if you choose to follow this plan, let me know! I'll be praying for you as you grow in His Wisdom and Grace!

Kirsten and Ben recently completed a season of football (soccer in the USA). They enjoyed playing and I enjoyed coaching!

Health Updates

Praise that Ben's tummy troubles for the most part seem to have disappeared. Only once in a great while will he complain that his tummy hurts now!

Whatever was ailing me has cleared up!

Thanks for all your prayers!
