Jerard is very lethargic from the phenobarbital given him but he is improving. His fever is gone. He has pneumonia but it was caught early and is clearing up well.
Today he was transferred to a regular room. Hopefully within the next day or two he will be discharged.
Thanks for all your prayers for him. Please continue to pray for him and for our family.
This morning at 3 am Jerard started having seizures again. He has had a number of seizures in the four hours since that time.
We don't know what that means yet, other than it is not good. We haven't talked with the doctors yet this morning.
Again, we would ask for your prayers.
Jerard has been admitted to the Pediatric ICU at Davao Docs Hospital.
The neurologist is hopeful that his seizures were set off by a viral infection and nothing more. If that is the case, we could be discharged from hospital within 24 - 36 hours and bring Jerard home on maintenance medications for siezure prevention.
We are waiting for lab test results.
There is no sign of shunt infection.
Keep us in your prayers.
It's amazing God's providence in all this. Just this past month we received a financial gift from someone to help cover "any future medical care needs of Jerard." God is so awesome!!!!!
Pray for Jerard. He has been having convulsions for about 5 or 6 hours. We are on the way to ER with him now. He is running a fever and not totally responsive to us. Thanks.
Well, ...I saw a doctor here in Davao for a second opinion.
I found her use or words interesting.
She said, and I quote, "Yes, this report shows cancer but it is benign. There is nothing to worry about."
She did go on to say that I am at a high risk for cancer but that this report doesn't show I have malignant cancer right now.
The doctor who did the lumpectomy wants the pathology slides sent to the USA for further testing. Thankfully, I have a sister who works at MD Anderson Cancer Center and is helping me arrange to have the pathology lab there look at and evaluate the slides.
I will be picking up the slides this afternoon.
All this to say...well, I might have cancer and I might not! I'll keep you posted!
Psalm 86 7 In the day of my trouble I will call to you, for you will answer me... 10 For you are great and do 11 Teach me your way, O LORD, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. 12 I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever.
marvelous deeds; you alone are God.
