November 1 is a big holiday in the Philippines.
All Saint's Day.
"Araw ng mga Patay" (Day of the Dead, All Saints Day and All Souls Day) is also known as Undas, taken from the fact it is held on November 1. During All Saints/All Souls Day, the Filipino tradition is to visit the cemeteries and pay homage to their loved ones. The usually solemn cemetery takes on a party atmosphere, with selling of balloons, food, family reunions at the gravesides of loved ones.

6 years ago we buried my Mom on November 1.
2 years ago Kurt's Mom died on November 1.
