Arlene and I took James and Jerard to the barber shop today for their first official haircuts.
James was very serious during his haircut!
Jerard started out ok but then cried through most of his cut.

While in the states, many asked how traffic was in Davao.
Here are a few recent pictures from this weekend of road traffic on a main road in Davao.
Classic....note the big bus being followed by a motorcyclist and
and three guys on bikes, and a jeepney.
Two-tier truck loaded with pigs heading to market and/or the
slaughter house.
Traffic scene
Looking into the back of a filled jeepney
While stopped at a traffic light (yes, there are traffic lights in
Davao!), James started waving at the baby girl in the truck
next to us!
Yesterday morning I prayed that we would be able to obtain a bed for James that had rails on it......
Yesterday afternoon we were given a bed for free - a toddler, twin size bed!
"Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost."
Another school year starts.
Every year, the school has a main verse or passage as it's 'foundation verse' for the year.
This year's passage is 2 Timothy 3: 14 - 17
14But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom
you learned it, 15and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
This is my prayer for our children as well.

Holding James and Jerard shortly after returning to Davao
How good it was to hold James and Jerard again when we arrived here on August 1.
James clapped and said 'Mommy' when he first saw us at the gate.
Jerard smiled broadly when he heard my voice.
What a blessing these two are!
